Putting is an important aspect of golf because it can greatly affect a player’s game performance and overall score. It can make a big difference happen because it doesn’t matter whether you are a high or low or an amateur golf player. As long as you putt well, you have the chance to win the game.


So, why again is golf putting important in a game or tournament?

In a regular game, golf putting can make up 40% to 50% of your golf score and you can only do this if you successfully eliminate 3 and 4 putt greens. In fact, in most of the games, golf putting is the ultimate determining factor of your score on every hole. More so, a missed putt is considered a grave mistake that a golf player can’t reverse.

Say that there are 18 holes found on the golf course including each green, you have an equivalent of two putts.
And so, it means that the standard for putting is 36. The greater part of 18-hole golf course is equivalent to 76 which boils down to a more overwhelming result which is: half of the score is acquired through putting. With this, you can safely assume that golf putting is indeed important strategy to win a game. Hence, its relevance should never be underestimated.

And so, if you want to win a specific game you have to start developing and improving your putting skills. As long as you know the fundamentals of golf putting you will eventually become a consistent and a valuable putter.
