Well, the book is very practical and easy to follow. It’s written well so that even first time dog owners and first time dog trainers can follow them. For this reason, the book really has been useful for me and my dog. Since the book is a step by step guide to positive dog training, I only have to follow the guide almost to the letter to have my dog eventually accomplish the training sets. 
The book is structured in a very organized manner too. This again made it easy to understand and follow. The author explained the logic behind each tip or training guide. So, you can be rest assured that you are treating your dog right all throughout. That is because The Power of Positive Dog Training emphasizes on listening and observing what your dog is communicating back to you.  
 
The emphasis really is not merely on training the dog but on building a relationship as well. That is why fear and punishment is discouraged in this book. Instead it pushes the idea of positive reinforcement.  
The book also goes a step further by providing glossary of important terms just to make sure that you will understand everything written in it. As for the treats for the dogs, the book even has a list of suggested treats that dogs would enjoy. There is also a diary for tracking the progress of your training. This way, you will be able to monitor and ensure that you and your dog are indeed making progress every day and every week of your training. 

Price :

At $18.99, getting a copy of The Power of Positive Dog Training is more than worth it. It is actually a minimal amount considering the help I’ve gotten in training my dog. A good training book is worth a lot. More than the money, it’s really the value of what it can bring to your relationship with your dog in the end.

This is a book I would never be ashamed to recommend. In fact, I absolutely endorse The Power of Positive Dog Training to all first time dog owners/trainers like me. If you are looking for something effective and something you can do, this is the book to buy. Pat Miller sure knows what she’s talking about. It’s a six-week basic dog training guide and it so definitely is. If you want a book on advanced dog trainings, search for one. But if you just want to be guided step by step on basic training The Power of Positive Dog Training is definitely the book to get.
