Flowers as Gifts
People love to receive flowers as a gift. This is particularly true for women because of the meaning they hold. Flowers can be given as a gift for any occasion, Valentines Day, birthday or just because. Regardless of the reason, there are many different ways to give flowers as a gift.
Traditional gifts are bouquets of flowers. Any type of flowers will do for the most part. However, flowers often have a wide variety of different meanings of different colors and flowers. It is definitely wise to choose flowers that have a meaning or the person to whom you are giving them to have a particular fond of.
There are many other ways of giving flowers as a gift. For example, many florists offer gift baskets. Gift baskets generally have a theme to them. There are a wide variety of themes anywhere from just saying Hello all the way to a sympathy gift basket. These will often contain more than just flowers. In addition to a nice flower arrangement, it will include items that are closely associated with the theme at hand such as a teddy bear, chocolate, or balloons, it will all depend on the type you have chosen.
While gift baskets make for a great, one stop shopping gift the prices can be significant and will vary greatly with different packages. You will always pay for convenience and the beauty they hold. The alternative to purchasing a flower gift basket would be to create one yourself. It is likely going to cost a good deal less because you are not going to have to pay for the time of another to create it. That you not only can personalize the basket more and probably with items cheaper than the florist might obtain.
Another type of flower gift that is extremely popular and not to mention that is, I personally feel, more economical is giving potted plants or flowers as a gift. The reason I feel this is more economical is the simple fact that potted plants or flowers last a good deal longer than the bouquet flowers. Provided you always include care instructions (for the not so green thumb receiver) this gift can be nurtured and always looked upon with the thought and feeling about the sender. Typically a bouquet of flowers, will only last a short time then need to be thrown away, a potted plant could last a good deal longer and serve as a constant reminder of your love and care.
While it is often true that many do not tend to remember to take care of their indoor plants or flowers, a gift is an entirely different story. Normally one will take extreme care to keep the gift growing as a constant reminder of the care or thought put behind in your sending it. Plants are a very practical and long lasting gift and if your florist attaches a thoughtful note on how to properly take care of the specific plant, the gift could last for many years to come. |
