For many musicians the thought of sitting down with a computer to compose a musical masterpiece is far-fetched. Now imagine that if you were just a kid? But for those that are looking for an easy musical writing tool that can help children from the ages of 3 to 12 learn all about music and music notation in a fun atmosphere- try Sibelius Student 6 Music Notation Software; available only at Sibelius’ website.
Features :
Imagine combining the brains of Mozart with the technological abilities of Bill Gates and basically that’s what you get when you purchase the music notation software from Sibelius. And finally there is now a true entry level software program for our youngest Mozart’s. This software package features easy games for children; the concept of making music notation a game is brilliant. I tried this and I love it- I really wish they had this when I was in college! Music Appreciation would have been so much easier to grasp. This software program features up to 12 staves; easy click with the mouse can create beautiful notes and sounds- it’s just great! This is ideal for teachers; you’re able to cut out certain parts of the score; create worksheets, write music, and scan. Playback features are awesome- you can look at previous versions as you listen to newer ones- compare the two and keep what you like out of each!
Ease of Use :
It’s the beginner’s package and for those of any age that need or want to learn how to create music from their home; this is the only true package I recommend. It’s ideal for beginners because it actually talks you through everything; explaining as you go.
Pricing :
When you visit Sibelius you have the choice of downloading the software for just $99 or getting an actual Sibelius Student 6 version mailed to your home for the same price. I really recommend the later; that way if you ever get a new computer- you have the software available…but if you just can’t wait to begin- go with the download; both are quiet inexpensive and offer a lot of great features for those of us starting out.
Summary :
Overall the Sibelius Student 6 Music Notation Software packages available are truly remarkable works of arts themselves. The programs are however, geared toward those with musical experience and professionals. The program does work well for teachers, composers, and others that are working with groups or individuals learning to write music, though. But in most instances, a professional would be needed to aid the beginner with the software package. The Sibelius software program does have lots of extras that other software programs do not; therefore, it is considered state-of-the-art in the world of music technology.
