Borders Review |
Hadn’t written a good book in awhile, and to think I consider myself a book lover, and more so, a bookstore reviewer!! Well, I could have driven down to the book store barely a mile from home, but was too lazy to do so. That’s when I recalled a friend telling me about a large online bookstore where she bought her books. That mega online bookstore was Borders. Being a frequent visitor to the Borders site, here’s some important information on this popular site which I’d like to share with you. |
Features : |
Borders, is indeed BIG on books because they have books on virtually every subject and title you could think of. Add their huge collection of music CDs, DVDs, movies and an exciting kids section, and Borders is the place to be. The payment options offered by Borders are perhaps, the widest in the online bookselling business. As Borders accepts big brand credit cards such as Visa; MasterCard; American Express; Discover; as well as MasterCard and Visa branded debit cards; Borders gift cards and a “Bill Me Later” payment option. |
Ease of Use : |
If you’re looking for an intelligently organized website, Borders is it. As soon as you log on, click any of the product tags at the top of the screen and you’ll be in for a treat. Useful side menus within each store appear on the side of each page and will help you find the product you want. If you only wish to browse, these menus are great as they’ll show you what Borders has to offer at a glance.
The search engine of the Borders site is extremely efficient, as it allows you to find books/products within a category, instantly. When you do, the site will help you arrange results by alphabet; by highest and lowest price; and by several other ways. Product pages of the Borders site are easy to read, well designed, uncluttered, and supported by several product pictures/details for your reference.
The book ordering process is also smooth. No sooner you add the product you need to your shopping cart, you can directly proceed to check out, enter credit card number, select a shipping address and presto, your order is done. As a regular customer you can also use the one-click ordering option. |
Customer Services : |
Borders offer high quality customer service via their site, as well as email and telephone. Response time to queries is swift, while the customer service staff is courteous and well informed. This is an aspect that has compelled me to return to the Borders site time and time again. |
Delivery Options & Return Policy : |
Borders offer excellent shipping options and quick deliveries. UPS is the main air-shipper for Borders which enables them to offer 2nd day, 3rd day and other surface shipping options. What’s nice is that the Borders site helps you to check your order history and track your order status at any time, from warehouse to your home.
Insofar as refunds, Borders does live up to its big, dependable name. So, you can expect a full refund within 30 days of the shipment date specified in your packing slip. Of course, you’d need to return the products you ordered (books, CDs, DVDs, etc.) in their original, unopened packing, and in good condition. |
Security & Reliability : |
Borders will guard your personal information with the same seriousness as they do their own. So, you can take for granted that your personal data will be protected by Borders’ impenetrable, firewalls and encryption technological systems. So far, I’ve never been hesitant or insecure in providing my personal information to Borders, knowing fully well they’ll do everything in their power to protect it at all times. |
Summary : |
I wouldn’t bat an eyelid in giving high marks to Borders, and particularly, to their smart, user-friendly site. Borders do an excellent job indeed. You can find the books/products you want in minutes; place and track your orders, all the way to your home; be served by helpful, well-informed customer service staff; and avail some of the most affordable book prices online.
Would I cross the border to another online bookstore? ... Definitively not!
Will I recommend Borders to you? ... You bet I will. |
